The Zamfara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the business environment through institutional reforms and strategic infrastructure projects aimed at attracting investments and creating jobs.
Deputy Governor Mani Malam Mummuni stated this while representing Governor Dauda Lawal at the Nationwide Town Hall Meeting and Stakeholders’ Engagement on the implementation of the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme in Gusau.
Mummuni, who is also Chairman of the Zamfara State Ease of Doing Business Council, said the administration had prioritised reforms to enhance private sector participation and economic growth.
He said the reforms covered land administration, public-private partnerships, tax administration, investments promotion and regulatory processes.
According to him, government has commenced reforms in key agencies, including the Zamfara Geographical Information System, Zamfara Investment Promotion Agency, Zamfara Internal Revenue Service and the Zamfara Urban and Regional Planning Board.
The deputy governor also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects such as trailer parks, a Computer and GSM Village, Digital Printing Village, technology incubation centre, modern markets and veterinary clinics.
He added that the government was supporting businesses through grants and other financial interventions to boost entrepreneurship and employment.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Sani Abubakar Bukkuyum, said the engagement was designed to promote collaboration among stakeholders and generate practical recommendations for policy implementation.
