Battery power is becoming a major consideration for smartphone users, and Xiaomi says this is why it has made battery endurance a priority in its new REDMI Note 17 Series, which arrives in Nigeria on September 30, 2026
The biggest talking point is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, which comes with a massive 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery and doubles the 5,000mAh capacity that has been common in smartphonesXiaomi says the battery can deliver up to four days of use on a single charge, based on its internal laboratory tests.
The phone also supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing it to serve as a power source for other compatible devicesThe Pro Max is joined by the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, with an 8,340mAh battery and 67W charging, and the standard REDMI Note 17, which packs a 7,700mAh battery and 45W charging.

REDMI Note 17The base model comes with a 699-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits peak brightness.It runs on the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 processor, with storage options reaching 256GB and RAM up to 8GB.Its 7,700mAh battery supports 45W turbo charging and 22.5W reverse charging.The phone also features a 50MP main camera and 16MP front camera, alongside AI tools such as AI Erase Pro, AI Sky and AI Image Expansion.
More than batteryWhile battery power is the headline feature, Xiaomi is also pitching the series as an entertainment and long-term-use device familyThe Pro 5G and Pro Max 5G models feature dual speakers, Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio, with Xiaomi claiming volume boosts of up to 300 per cent and 400 per cent respectively.The base Note 17 offers a 200 per cent volume boost and runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, while Xiaomi lists four years of operating-system updates and six years of security updates.
