The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has clarified that the Lagos State Government bears no responsibility for funding party activities, describing claims to the contrary as misleading and politically motivated.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s spokesman, Mogaji (Hon) Seye Oladejo, said the APC operates as an independent political organisation with its own internal structures for financing and logistics.
Oladejo made the clarification while refuting a report alleging that Lagos delegates were stranded due to the non-release of mobilisation funds.
He dismissed the claim as false, insisting that all accredited delegates from the state were transported to Abuja in a well-organised and coordinated manner.
According to him, adequate arrangements were made to ensure the comfort of delegates throughout their journey, while decent accommodation was provided upon arrival.
“The Lagos State Government is not responsible for funding party activities. The APC, as a political organisation, independently manages its logistics and finances,” he stated.
He added that attempts to link party operations with state government funding were deliberate efforts to misinform the public and distort facts.
The APC also accused the platform behind the report of promoting unverified and sensational claims, urging members of the public to exercise caution and rely on credible sources of information.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to internal unity and its continued support for good governance in Lagos State and across the country.
