Nigerian carrier ValueJet is set to commence direct flight operations between Lagos and Accra on March 30, 2026, marking a significant milestone in its regional expansion drive. The airline announced that its inaugural Lagos–Accra–Lagos flight will depart from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the morning with return flights from Accra also in the morning. It said passengers can now book tickets via the airline’s official website. The new route comes on the heels of ValueJet’s successful launch of its first international service to Banjul, The Gambia, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence across West Africa. The airline is also targeting additional regional destinations including Cotonou and Malabo. Speaking on the development, Managing Director, Omololu Majekodunmi, described the Accra route as a key component of the airline’s vision to improve connectivity along the West African corridor. “We are thrilled to commence our regional service with the inaugural flight between Lagos and Accra slated for March 30, 2026. This represents a significant step as we expand our network beyond Nigeria and across the African continent,” he said. Majekodunmi noted that the new service is expected to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Nigeria and Ghana by boosting tourism, trade, and business travel. To support its growing operations, the airline recently added CRJ-1000 aircraft to its fleet, aimed at enhancing both regional and domestic services. He further expressed optimism that the Accra route would deliver seamless travel experiences while contributing to economic growth in both countries.
“With this new route, we aim to enhance connectivity between Nigeria and Ghana, fostering tourism, trade, and tighter economic and cultural ties,” he added.
ValueJet also assured passengers of competitive fares, promotional offers, and special travel packages as it expands its footprint in the region.
With support from Ghana Airports Company Limited, the airline said travellers can expect reliable, efficient, and high-quality service on the new route.
