Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued a 20-year-old man, Adam Yabana, who spent over three months in terrorist captivity before managing to escape in Borno State
Yabana was intercepted on September 9 by troops from the 156 Task Force Battalion, operating alongside the AHQ Intelligence Fusion Battalion and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Mainok, Kaga Local Government Area
The rescue occurred during a clearance operation prompted by credible intelligence regarding suspected terrorist activity near Abasuri village
According to preliminary military investigations, Yabana was abducted by insurgents while working on a farm in the Gowo general area
After enduring more than three months in captivity, he managed to break free and escape on September 8, fleeing first to Barmalanti village before moving toward Mainok, where the joint security forces intercepted him
Military authorities confirmed that Yabana would be handed over to intelligence personnel at the 29 Task Force Brigade for further debriefing and investigation before being reunited with his family
Following the operation, the troops safely returned to their blocking positions in Mainok
