The Zamfara State Government has called on stakeholders to support ongoing efforts to revitalise the education sector.
The Supervising Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abdul Malik Gajam, made the call during a strategic meeting with education officials in Gusau.
He said Governor Dauda Lawal was committed to transforming the sector.
“We firmly believe that Governor Dauda Lawal is passionate and has the zeal to transform the education sector in the state,” he said.
Gajam urged teachers and administrators to support the reforms, warning that failure to do so could hinder progress.
“If we mistakenly refuse to support him… it would be hard for Zamfara education to recover,” he said.
He emphasised the need for accountability and measurable outcomes.
“I made it clear that we must move beyond paperwork. What we need now is verifiable data and physical evidence of progress across all 14 local government areas,” he said.
The commissioner also tasked officials to tackle absenteeism and ensure effective service delivery.
“Our officers must serve as the true ‘eyes and ears’ of government, ensuring teacher accountability and guaranteeing that learning materials reach every child,” he said.
He added that the state government was working to reposition public schools.
“Our goal is to restore quality, discipline, and excellence across all schools and make them more competitive,” he said.
