The Super Eagles have commenced training in Antalya, Turkey, ahead of their participation in a four-nation friendly tournament.
According to updates from camp, 22 of the 23 invited players were present at the team’s first training session. The only absentee is Calvin Bassey of Fulham, who has been ruled out due to a back injury.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi arrived early on Wednesday morning and joined the rest of the squad for the session.
A video shared via the team’s official social media channels showed players taking part in fitness drills, rondos, and quick one-touch passing exercises. Goalkeepers Maduka Okoye, Francis Uzoho, and Adebayo Adeleye were also seen undergoing specialised training with the coaching staff.
Nigeria will face Iran on Friday at the Antalyaspor Stadium. The tournament, originally scheduled to be held in Amman, Jordan, was relocated to Turkey due to ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
The Super Eagles’ second fixture is slated for next Tuesday at the same venue.
