Shakira's Madrid Residency: A Spectacular Finale
Get ready for a thrilling musical extravaganza as Shakira brings her record-breaking world tour to a spectacular close with a special concert residency in Madrid.
Live Nation announced that the iconic singer will perform for six nights, from September 18-20 and September 25-27, at a custom-built venue in southern Madrid, aptly named the 'Shakira Stadium.'
A Celebration of Life and Latin Culture
Pino Sagliocco, President of Live Nation Spain, revealed that the temporary venue will accommodate approximately 50,000 fans, creating an electric atmosphere for this historic event. He emphasized that the concerts will be a vibrant celebration of Latin culture and a testament to Shakira's enduring appeal.
In an interview with El Pais, Shakira herself expressed her excitement, promising a show like no other. 'Spain is where we're really going all out,' she said, hinting at an extraordinary production.
A Triumphant Return to Spain
These concerts mark Shakira's long-awaited return to Spain after an eight-year hiatus. They also signify a new chapter for the artist following her 2023 settlement with Spanish prosecutors in a tax fraud case, for which she paid a substantial fine.
The Madrid residency will be the grand finale of the 'Women Don't Cry Anymore' tour, which has shattered records to become the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist. The tour kicked off in Brazil last year, and Shakira will return to the country in May for a free concert on Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana beach, joining the ranks of Madonna and Lady Gaga.
