Rotary Club of Osubi, under District 9141 of Rotary International, has called for support to execute educational, health and finance – support programmes for the 2026 – 2027 Community Services’ projects
The 17th President Of Rotary Club of Osubi, Rtn Bemigho Florence Akande, who appealed for the support during her installation at Osubi in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, Saturday August 29, emphasized the importance of teamwork, service and innovation, to raise seventeen million, three hundred and fifty thousand naira ( 17,350,000) for actualisation of the community development projects.
Rtn Bemigho Akande, outlined provision of 40 sets of desks and chairs for Osubi School 2 at N2,500,000, provision of delivery bed/ bedding to 4 health centres in Osubi at N10,000,000, provision of 200 × 15 – litre waste bins for 3 schools in Osubi at N700,000, peace awareness walk at N700,000, financial support for 7 petty traders to boost their business at N700,000 , distribution of books to students of Osubi Secondary School at N1,500,000 and donation of 5 wheelchairs to the disabled within her catchment area at N1,250,000 as the community development projects earmarked for the 2026/ 2027 Rotary year.
Whilst disclosing that the theme for the 2026/ 2027 Rotary year, is creating lasting impacts, Rtn Akande, noted that the theme reflects Rotary Club of Osubi’s collective commitment to creating lasting changes in Osubi communities.
In his valedictory speech, the 2025/2026 President of Rotary Club of Osubi, Rtn Malik Abubakar, said his leadership touched seven focus areas of peace building and conflict prevention, disease prevention and treatment, water sanitation and hygiene, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, community economic development as well as supporting the environment.
Highpoints of the ceremony, were the investiture of Rtn Akande and inauguration of the 2026/ 2027 Board Members.
