Rapper Offset is in a stable condition in hospital after being shot outside a casino in Florida on Monday.
The former member of the hip-hop trio Migos, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was attacked in a valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, his spokesperson confirmed.
He is currently receiving treatment and “being closely monitored”, the spokesperson said in a statement.
Offset was previously married to fellow rapper Cardi B, with whom he shares three children.
Authorities have yet to disclose details surrounding the events leading up to the shooting.
The Seminole Police Department confirmed that two individuals have been detained as investigations continue.
“The site is secure and there is no threat to the public,” a police statement said. “Operations continue as normal.”
The incident comes years after tragedy struck the Migos group. Fellow member Takeoff was shot dead in 2022 outside a bowling alley in Houston while with his uncle and bandmate Quavo.
Migos rose to global fame with their distinctive rapid-fire flow, breaking through with hits like Versace and later earning Grammy nominations. Their chart-topping track Bad and Boujee, featuring Lil Uzi Vert, peaked at No. 1 in the United States, while songs such as MotorSport and Walk It Talk It also enjoyed major success.
Offset and Cardi B secretly married in 2017, but in 2024, the Grammy-winning rapper announced she had filed for divorce.
