In commemoration of the 2026 National Police Day, the FCT Police Command, under the leadership of CP Ahmed Mohammed Sanusi, will today lead officers and men of the command in a sanitation exercise across various communities in the territory.
CP Sanusi, who announced this during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Abuja over the weekend, said the exercise is part of a week-long schedule of activities to mark National Police Day.
He noted that the sanitation exercise commences Monday, March 30, 2026, adding that a free medical outreach programme will be conducted for vulnerable groups at the Jabi Motor Park and the Area 1 Shopping Complex in Garki on the same day.
The CP outlined other activities for the week, including a walkathon by command personnel on Tuesday, March 31, followed by a public sensitization campaign on electoral offences and safe driving practices across the FCT on Wednesday, April 1.
According to him, the command will on Thursday, April 2, present welfare checks to the families of deceased police personnel to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
The celebration will culminate in a grand finale featuring a ceremonial parade at Eagle Square, Abuja, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
The Commissioner of Police encouraged members of the public to join the festivities and take advantage of the free medical services and other scheduled activities.
He emphasized that this year’s theme, “Community Partnership: Building Trust,” underscores the importance of collective effort and active public participation in ensuring effective policing.
