Nigeria’s political and religious leaders converged at the National Mosque, Abuja, for a solemn prayer session to mark the 74th birthday of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Among those in attendance were Vice- President Kashim Shettima, National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, lawmakers, and governors including Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, who also chairs the Northern States Governors’ Forum.
The prayer session was led by prominent Islamic scholars, including Ibrahim Makari and Muhammad Kabir.
In their sermons and supplications, they called for divine guidance, wisdom, and resilience for the president as he navigates the country through ongoing economic and political reforms.
Ina statement Issued by the director general pres affairs government house Isma’ila Uba Misilli, the Special emphasis was placed on national unity, peace, and stability, with prayers offered for sustainable development across Africa’s most populous nation.
The clerics also urged leaders to govern with justice and accountability, highlighting the moral responsibilities attached to public office.
The event formed part of broader commemorations of President Tinubu’s birthday and reflected a longstanding tradition in Nigeria where religious observances accompany major national milestones.
