Muslims across Nigeria on Friday gathered at various Eid grounds to observe the Eid-el-Fitr prayers, with large crowds captured in photographs from different states.
Eid-el-Fitr is celebrated after the completion of the month of Ramadan, a period of fasting, prayer and reflection observed by Muslims worldwide.
The day marks the end of the fasting period and is regarded as a time for gratitude, charity and communal bonding.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and state governors have called on citizens to embrace unity, compassion and self-discipline amid the country’s challenges, including insecurity.
