The Secretary to the Ondo State Government (SSG), Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned to contest the Ondo Central Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a letter addressed to the state governor, Fasoranti formally declared his intention to run, citing a deep sense of responsibility and a longstanding commitment to public service.
The medical doctor, who spent over three decades in the health sector and rose to the directorate cadre at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, before retiring in 2024, said his experience in public service and governance has prepared him for national leadership.
According to him, his decision is driven by a desire to provide people-oriented representation and to strengthen democratic dividends across Ondo Central.
Fasoranti emphasized the need for inclusive and impactful governance, noting that leadership must address the real needs of the people while creating opportunities for growth and development.
He also highlighted his background in humanitarian and professional engagements as part of his readiness to serve, pledging to represent the interests of Ondo Central effectively at the National Assembly.
The senatorial district comprises Ondo West, Ondo East, Ifedore, Akure South, Akure North, and Idanre local government areas.
Fasoranti called on residents of the district to support his ambition, promising purposeful representation and a commitment to translating the aspirations of the people into concrete action.
