The Obidient Movement has warned that it would no longer watch or tolerate anyone or group of thugs attack Nigerians or the movement during campaigns or elections
Dr Yunusa Tanko, leader of the Movement, said this while reacting to the attack on members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) during the One Million Man March in Warri, Delta State on Friday, September 18, 2026.
He said the NDC candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, previously alleged that armed men attacked his convoy in Delta, leaving six NDC members injured
He said the Obidient Movement was putting all group of thugs on notice that Obidients and Nigerians in general would no longer sit back as lame ducks throughout the campaign season and on election day while political thugs attack Nigerians exercising their democratic rights
Tanko noted that Obidients and Nigerians everywhere had a constitutional right to campaign, mobilise, assemble and support candidates of their choice and would defend those rights through any and every means available to us, including lawful resistance, mass mobilisation and even self-defence
He called on security agencies to always maintain peace and order in the country and ensure they arrest anyone perpetrating crime and violence
