Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has described the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) as a vital instrument for promoting national unity, integration and peaceful coexistence among young Nigerians from diverse ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds
Governor Fintiri stated this on Friday, October 2, 2026, while addressing 1,428 corps members at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Batch C, Stream I Orientation Course at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Damare, Girei Local Government Area of Adamawa State
Represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, the governor said the NYSC scheme provides young Nigerians with a unique opportunity to understand and appreciate the country’s diversity, build lasting friendships and strengthen the bonds of national consciousness
He urged the corps members to uphold the values of patriotism, discipline, tolerance, hard work, selflessness and service to humanity throughout their one-year national service
