NSCDC Launches Innovative Security Strategies in Nigeria
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced its ambitious initiative to bolster the protection of national infrastructures through cutting-edge technology, including the deployment of drones and solar-powered equipment.
Strategic Meeting Overview
This revelation was made by the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Audi, during a significant meeting held at the Corps’ headquarters in Abuja. The meeting gathered state commandants, heads of stores, and key management officials, marking Audi's initial strategic discussion following his reappointment.
Proactive Stance Against Crime
During the meeting, Audi asserted a shift in strategy towards a more proactive approach in combating criminal activities. He emphasized the NSCDC’s dedication to enhancing its operational methods and effectiveness.
Commitment to Professionalism and Training
Highlighting the Corps' renewed focus, Audi stressed that capacity building and rigorous training for personnel are critical. He stated that professionalism, integrity, and adherence to operational mandates remain paramount and non-negotiable.
Strengthening Inter-Agency Collaboration

Distribution of Advanced Operational Equipment
In a bid to enhance operational readiness, Audi distributed a comprehensive range of advanced equipment to state formation commanders, which included:
- Three drones for aerial surveillance
- Operational backpacks equipped with mini tablets, solar chargers, GPS trackers, and situation room connectivity packs
- 100 bulletproof vests and helmets
- 200 pairs of combat boots along with knee and ankle guards
- 20 operational night-vision goggles
- 200 uniforms in various colors and styles
- Additional equipment such as shocking batons, chain cutters, body cameras, and binoculars
- Water dispensers and NSCDC official manuals
These tools are intended to boost surveillance capabilities, improve response times, and ensure the safety of officers on duty.
Guidelines for Equipment Usage
Audi issued a stern reminder that the distributed equipment is strictly designated for official Corps duties. He cautioned that any misuse would result in disciplinary measures.
