Rio Ngumoha scored a brilliant, record-breaking first goal to lead Liverpool to a 2-0 win over Fulham at Anfield on Saturday.
The English Premier League evening fixture saw the youngster etch his name in more records while Anfield legend Mohamed Salah begins his farewell tour with the clincher.
Ngumoha broke the deadlock in the 36th minute with a well-taken solo goal, creating a yard of space to curl into the far right corner despite the attention of a defender for 1-0. Ngumoha becomes the youngest player to score a goal at Anfield in the EPL at 17 years and 225 days, breaking the record previously held by Michael Owen.
Salah then sealed the win four minutes later with a volleyed finish for his 20th goal contribution for Liverpool in all competitions this season (11 goals and 9 assists), netting his sixth league goal of the season, and first goal since the Egyptian striker announced his summer Liverpool exit.
The goal is also Salah’s 108th strike at Anfield in his Liverpool career.
Arne Slot’s sides win marked the 1,500th league win for Liverpool at Anfield in the club’s history.
The Reds improved to 52 points from 32 matches, two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa in the race for next season’s UCL spot.
