Kano State Welcomes New Kumbotso Chairman
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, made headlines as he officially swore in Ali Musa Hardworker as the newly elected Chairman of the Kumbotso Local Government Area. This significant event took place following a recent court judgment that invalidated the tenure of the former chairman.
Court Ruling Sparks Leadership Change
The transition was prompted by a ruling from a Kano State High Court, which annulled the Certificate of Return that had previously been awarded to the former chairman, Abdullahi Ghali Shitu, who represented the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Formal Swearing-In Ceremony
The swearing-in ceremony occurred on Tuesday evening at the Government House in Kano. This event followed the issuance of a new Certificate of Return to Hardworker by the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSEIC).
This pivotal moment was detailed in a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
Governor's Charge to the New Chairman
During the oath administration, Governor Yusuf emphasized to Hardworker the importance of executing his responsibilities with integrity, dedication, and a focus on grassroots development. The governor urged him to uphold the trust placed in him by the residents of Kumbotso.
Commitment to Community Welfare
In response to his appointment, Ali Musa Hardworker expressed his gratitude to both the governor and the constituents of Kumbotso for their confidence in his leadership. He committed to prioritizing the welfare of residents and ensuring progressive development across all wards in Kumbotso.
