Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nasarawa South Senatorial District have endorsed the former Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna, to succeed Governor Abdullahi Sule in 2027. Speaking during an expanded meeting of zonal stakeholders in Lafia, the forum’s convener, Ibrahim Hamza, expressed confidence that Prof. Haruna is the best candidate to sustain Governor Sule’s legacies.
Hamza noted that Haruna shares significant similarities with the incumbent governor, citing their rural backgrounds, engineering expertise, and extensive professional exposure.
“Governor Sule attended technical school to build his foundation and went on to gain private sector experience that exposed him to global standards, enabling the kind of leadership he has provided to Nasarawa State,” Hamza said.
“Prof. Haruna similarly built his career starting from Kaduna Polytechnic, transforming the institution during his time there. At NASENI, he performed wonders as perhaps the most effective head the agency has ever had, using his position to introduce innovations and open Nasarawa to the world.”
Hamza argued that for the state to ensure the continuity of Governor Sule’s programs and policies, it must support a successor with a comparable pedigree. He emphasized that in a world increasingly driven by technology, Nasarawa must remain competitive in its developmental strides.
