Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has urged Muslims to emulate the virtues and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as they celebrate this year’s Maulud
The governor made the call in a goodwill message to Muslims across Kano State and Nigeria in commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf urged Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the life, teachings and conduct of the Prophet
He specifically highlighted virtues such as peace, justice, compassion, honesty, patience and tolerance, urging the faithful to incorporate them into their daily lives
The governor also called on Muslims to promote peaceful coexistence, unity and mutual respect among people of different backgrounds
He urged parents, religious leaders and community elders to intensify efforts to educate younger generations on the teachings and exemplary conduct of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
Yusuf prayed for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, urging citizens to support initiatives aimed at improving the wellbeing of the people
The governor also prayed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, wishing them success in their first tenure and a smooth re-election bid in 2027
He wished Muslims a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Maulud celebration and urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace, progress and unity across the country
