The police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned a 40-year-old man, Gbadebo Fawole, before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court for allegedly obtaining N10 million by false pretence.
The defendant is facing a two-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, ASP Aminu Isaac, told the court that the offence was committed on September 9, 2025, at Ikorodu West LCDA.
He alleged that the defendant forged documents belonging to Adewale Emporium Company and used them to fraudulently obtain N10 million from one Prince Adebowale Emporium.
The offences contravene Sections 287 and 361 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, B.A. Sonuga, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
He ordered that the sureties’ addresses be verified.
The case was adjourned to April 16 for mention. (NAN)
