Leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agege Federal Constituency have endorsed former Agege Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi, for the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement took place on Friday at Capitol Road, Agege, following a motion moved by Hon. Taofeek Adaranijo, who represented the constituency in the 8th National Assembly. Adaranijo described Egunjobi as a grassroots leader with a strong record of service, citing his achievements in education, healthcare, and infrastructure during his tenure as council chairman.
“Under his leadership, Agege witnessed remarkable progress—from free school shuttle buses to improved maternity services and the establishment of Nigeria’s first council-owned Computer-Based Test centre,” Adaranijo said.
In his response, Egunjobi thanked party members for their confidence, pledging to prioritize the interests of Agege residents. “My aspiration is not driven by personal ambition but by the collective call of our people. I will continue to make Agege my priority,” he stated.
He emphasized that his legislative agenda would be shaped by consultations with constituents to ensure their needs are represented effectively.
The event drew prominent APC figures, including Chief Safari Adisa Adaranijo, Hon. Jubreel Abdul Kareem, Hon. Johnson Babatunde, Hon. Akinola Idowu, Chief Owolabi Dada, and Lagos State Commissioner for Establishment Training, Hon. Afolabi Ayantayo.
Also present were council officials, community leaders, traders, artisans, and representatives of Arewa and Ndigbo communities, signaling broad support for Egunjobi’s candidacy within the constituency.
