A prominent Kano cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, has asked a Federal High Court to compel the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to remove the name of Ibrahim Ali Amin popularly called Little which was submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC as the party’s Kano State governorship candidate for the 2027 elections and be substituted with his name
Khalil who is also the chairman of Kano State Council of Ulama aspired to be the ADC flag bearer in the election ADC under Musa Ungogo as the party chairman had declared Khalil winner of the party primary, but after dissolution of the state executives of the party, ADC submitted the name of Ibrahim Ali Little, a close political associate of Atiku Abubakar, the party presidential candidate instead.
Counsel for Sheikh Khalil, AA Abubakar, told the court that all the defendants in the case have been duly served with the court processes Counsel for Amin Little who is the second defendant in the case equally told the court that they were served as claimed.
