The Kano State House of Assembly has withdrawn impeachment proceedings against former Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, following his resignation from office. During plenary, presided over by the Speaker, Jibril Ismail Falgore, the House read Gwarzo’s resignation letter, which took effect on March 27, 2026, in line with constitutional provisions. With his exit, lawmakers moved to discontinue the impeachment process, effectively bringing the matter to a close. Speaking to journalists, Majority Leader, Lawal Hussain Dala, said the Assembly had acted within its legislative role, noting that any further action on the allegations now rests with anti-graft agencies.
