Kaduna's Road to Progress
Kaduna State is witnessing a transportation revolution, with an impressive 140 road projects spanning 1,335 kilometres underway, according to Dr. Abdullahi Baba-Ahmed, Managing Director of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA). This development is set to bolster Governor Uba Sani's re-election campaign in 2027.
Elected in 2023, Governor Sani's administration has embarked on an urban-rural renewal initiative, bringing tangible benefits to residents across the state. The construction of these roads within three years is a remarkable feat, not just for Kaduna but for the entire northern region.
Unprecedented Progress
Baba-Ahmed proudly announced that over 60% of the projects are already completed, with the remaining on track for completion before the end of the current term. This rapid progress ensures that no area is left behind, with rural communities finally receiving much-needed government attention.
Reconnecting Communities
The strategic focus on road corridors has led to the completion of key routes across all three senatorial districts. These roads are not just improving mobility but also fostering local economies and reconnecting previously isolated communities. One standout project is the 35-kilometre Gadar Gayan–Gwaraji–Maraban Kujama asphalt road, featuring a 130-metre bridge over the River Kaduna, which serves 76 farming communities.
Governor Sani's commitment to infrastructure development is evident in his completion of this historic project within two years, addressing the needs of communities that had never experienced such development before.
Public Support and Impact
The positive response from residents highlights the widespread appreciation for these high-quality projects. The completed roads, such as the Magajiya–Amaru–Unguwan Liman Road, Audi–Kako Road, and Tudun Biri Road, are already making a significant impact. Youth representative Abdullahi Umar praised KADRA's timely execution and quality control, expressing confidence in the administration's re-election prospects.
With such transformative infrastructure development, Governor Uba Sani's re-election campaign is poised to benefit from the tangible improvements felt across Kaduna State.
