Terrifying Ordeal: Mother Recounts Abduction
The harrowing incident unfolded in Unguwan Bako, Orange Market, where 19-year-old Aisha Bada was asleep with her newborn. She recounted to Daily Trust the terrifying moment her world was turned upside down.
"I was asleep when I heard a loud knock on my door. Before I could react, two hefty men forced their way in," Aisha described. "One grabbed my neck and covered my mouth, while the other took my baby and ran away."
Aisha struggled in vain to raise an immediate alarm, her husband reportedly away in Lagos at the time. The community leader, Chief Abubakar Yusuf Mai Anguwa Baƙo, confirmed the abduction, stating the incident was promptly reported to the police.
Swift Police Response Leads to Rescue
Nasarawa Police Command’s swift action was instrumental in the baby's safe return. SP Ramhan Nansel, the Public Relations Officer, confirmed the rescue and the arrest of two individuals connected to the crime. Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, had immediately directed detectives to prioritize the investigation and track down the perpetrators.
