Super Eagles of Nigeria captain and Besiktas of Turkey midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set for an undisclosed period on the sideline due to injury. According to the defensive midfielder’s Turkish club, the 31 years old is nursing a hamstring injury.
However, it is unclear if the former Leicester City man got the injury over the weekend in their 1-0 loss to Fenerbahce, or during team training this week.
Besiktas revealed the Ndidi has a bleeding and strained hamstring following MRI scans at the Altunizade Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul, and has started his rehabilitation journey.
“The results of MRI scan at Altunizade Acıbadem Hospital have revealed that Beşiktaş midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has bleeding and strain in his hamstring. “His rehabilitation is being closely monitored by the Beşiktaş medical team,” the club revealed.
This is a recurrent injury for the Lagos-born player who has suffered hamstring strain twice this season and missed four matches due to the condition.
Ndidi has been a key player for Besiktas this season with 26 appearances in all competitions- including 22 times in the Turkish Super Lig, contributing two goals and one assist.
