Griezmann's Next Chapter
In a major announcement, Atletico Madrid and Orlando City have confirmed that Antoine Griezmann will be joining the MLS side at the end of the European season.
The 35-year-old French forward, who holds Atletico's all-time scoring record with 211 goals, has agreed to a two-year contract with Orlando.
A Legendary Atletico Career
Griezmann's time at Atletico has been nothing short of remarkable. Since joining in 2014, he has made 488 appearances, scoring 13 goals this season alone. He surpassed Luis Aragones' record of 173 goals, solidifying his legacy.
The upcoming move comes after Griezmann's return to Atletico in 2021 on loan, following a stint at Barcelona.
A Star-Studded MLS Transition
Orlando City owner Mark Wilf expressed his enthusiasm, stating that Griezmann's decision aligns with the club's vision. Griezmann joins a growing list of European stars moving to the MLS, including former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
As Griezmann prepares for his July move, Atletico Madrid sits comfortably in La Liga's top four, with a 13-point cushion for Champions League qualification.
The French star will aim to add to his 2018 Europa League title before embarking on his new MLS adventure."
