Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has pledged his administration’s full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027
Lawal made the commitment on Friday when he received the Director-General of the Tinubu 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar, and other stakeholders at the Government House in Gusau
The governor said the meeting was aimed at mobilising support for Yari and ensuring the success of Tinubu’s re-election campaign
He described Yari as “our own son of the soil” and urged stakeholders to support him in coordinating the campaign
“It is therefore important for us to support him in this assignment and seek the cooperation and support of all stakeholders towards the success of Mr President’s re-election bid, God willing,” Lawal said
Speaking on his administration’s level of commitment to the campaign, the governor said it was prepared to go beyond what was expected
“In terms of our commitment, if there is anything beyond 100 per cent, I would say we are committed beyond 100 per cent,” he said
Lawal added, “We are all together in this effort and, by the grace of Almighty Allah, we will succeed”
Yari, in his remarks, said his responsibility as director-general of the campaign council was enormous, stressing the need to engage community leaders in the mobilisation of support for Tinubu
He said many of those at the meeting, although not politicians, were influential leaders in their communities and places of origin
“Despite the fact that many of those present are not politicians, they are leaders in their respective communities and places of origin They command the respect of their people, and people listen to them,” Yari said.
He said the campaign council would continue to engage stakeholders and community leaders to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election
