Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State is set to attend a two-day high-level workshop on strategic governance and resilience at Coventry University in the United Kingdom.
The governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the workshop, scheduled for March 30 and 31, is organised by the Centre for Resilient Business and Society under the United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI) support framework.
He said the event would bring together global scholars, policymakers and governance experts to explore data-driven approaches to building resilient institutions and addressing societal challenges.
According to the statement, Lawal will be accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including the Secretary to the State Government, commissioners, special advisers and the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara Information Technology Development Agency (ZITDA).
It added that the governor and his team would also engage postgraduate researchers in an interactive session on the role of research in policymaking, drawing lessons from Zamfara’s Six-Point Rescue Agenda.
The government said participation in the workshop underscores its commitment to integrating research and innovation into governance to drive development across key sectors.
