The Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, has called on Nigerians to demonstrate stronger nationalism by supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid the crisis affecting countries across the world.
Barau made the appeal on Friday while speaking with journalists at the National Eid Ground in Abuja after the two-rak‘ah Eid prayer led by Professor Illiasu Usman of the National Mosque. He said collective support for the federal government would accelerate Nigeria’s journey towards prosperity under President Tinubu’s leadership.
He said the far-reaching global implications of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East were enough reason Nigerians should unite and support their government to effectively navigate the fallout.
“What we need at this time is to continue supporting Mr President and keep praying for him to succeed in his efforts to bring prosperity to our nation.
“The world is full of challenges and Nigeria is not an exception. Those of us working with him know he is determined to deliver,” he said.
Barau also congratulated the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world on the successful completion of Ramadan, praying for unity and wisdom for the country’s leaders.
