Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has approved the appointment of 118 persons as Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to his administration
The appointments, contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia, on Monday, take effect immediately.
Among those appointed are Nollywood actresses Rachael Okonkwo and Eucharia Anunobi
Okonkwo was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Film and Creative Industry Development, while Anunobi was appointed Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation, Enugu-North Zone
The appointments comprise seven Special Advisers, eight Senior Special Assistants and 103 Special Assistants
The Special Advisers include SN.C. Nwagu, who was appointed Special Adviser on Conflict Resolution and Mediation; Fidelis Odo, Inter-Governmental Affairs and Co-ordination; Augustine Okoli, Policy Affairs and Analysis; Pedro Nwankwo, Stakeholders Relations and Community Affairs; Chimezie Nkwuo, Economic Development; Vitalis Okonkwo, Grassroots Coordination; and Peter Andy Omeje, Commerce and Business Development.
Other Senior Special Assistants appointed are Okey Ude, Inter-Party and Mobilisation; Chinedu Chukwunwike, Party Monitoring; Peter Chukwujekwu Ogbe, Legal and Regulatory Compliance; Chukwudi Ozoeluba, Boundary and Land Dispute Resolution; Frank Udemezue, Small and Medium Enterprise Development; Celestine Odenigbo, Fiscal Reform and Budget Strategy; and Obiora Aleke, Education and Institutional Development
The 103 Special Assistants were assigned responsibilities covering areas including environment, health, markets, infrastructure, youth development, women mobilisation, community engagement, education, communication, technology, agriculture, security, transportation and social welfare
The appointments are part of the state government’s latest expansion of its political and administrative support structure
