Vice president Kashim Shettima has clarified that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri remains the leader of the All Progressives Congress party (APC) in Adamawa state with his official defection into the party.
Shettima made the clarification in Yola on Monday at a grand reception for Gov Fintiri.
The Vice President explained that the ruling party is becoming more formidable purely due to purposeful leadership that is yielding results under the stewardship of president Bola Tinubu urging people to support and cooperate with government for more dividends of democracy.
He said democracy has come to stay in Nigeria as people will always navigate towards a political platform with purpose, vision and commitment insisting that APC is taking the lead with the array of bigwigs especially the governors defecting.
Vice President Shettima announced that the party is working assiduously to bring more strong politicians like former Governor Muhammad jibrilla Bindow back to the APC soon congratulating Fintiri for bringing Senator Abdulaziz Nyako back to the party.
Earlier in his remarks, the National chairman of the Party (APC),Nentawe Yilwalda expressed gratitude to Fintiri for taking the bold step to joining the ruling APC at this crucial moment.
Yilwalda assured Fintiri that he would be accorded labeled playing ground as all other members of the party urging him to do more for his people so that posterity will judge his regime fairly.
Responding, Governor Fintiri stated that the good policies and programs of president Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda attracted him to the APC.
Fintiri said he is bringing capacity and strength to the table with a view to make sure victory is attained for the APC from the counselor seat up to the presidency pledging to do whatever it takes to return president Bola Tinubu as elected president in 2027 elections.
