Malam Nasir El-Rufai, the ex-governor of Kaduna State, has been returned to the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). This development follows his earlier release on March 27, 2026, due to the death of his mother.

On Tuesday, El-Rufai made an appearance at the Kaduna State High Court related to a different charge initiated against him by the ICPC. Unfortunately, the hearing was disrupted due to the absence of the second defendant, leading to an adjournment scheduled for April 10, 2026.
Bail Application Status
In addition, he was brought before the Federal High Court in Kaduna, where proceedings regarding his bail application are set to continue. The next hearing for this particular matter is scheduled for March 31, 2026.
