Justice Abdullahi Mahmud Bayero of the Court of Appeal, Kaduna Division, who passed away last week in Cairo, Egypt, has been laid to rest in Kano
Family sources confirmed that the funeral prayer was conducted at the Kano Emir’s Palace around 5:00 pm, yesterday with relatives, colleagues, and members of the public in attendance
He was later buried at Farm Centre Cemetery in Kano
Justice Bayero was elevated from the Kano State High Court to the Court of Appeal in 2018 and took his oath of office on June 22 of that year
He was widely respected for his integrity, fairness, and dedication to justice, delivering landmark rulings on criminal case transfers, fundamental rights enforcement, and capital offences
