The All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Coordinator for Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State, Alhaji Adamu Yaro, has urged traditional rulers to mobilise their subjects to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections
Yaro made the appeal when he led a delegation on advocacy visits to the Fika and Potiskum Emirate Councils as part of preparations for the elections
He is the campaign coordinator for the APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, and other candidates of the party in Potiskum Local Government Area
The delegation first visited the Fika Emirate Council, where it was received by the Galadima of Fika, Alhaji Ahmad Haruna Godowoli, on behalf of the Emir, Alhaji Muhammad Abali Ibn Muhammad Idrissa
Yaro sought the support and royal blessings of the traditional institution, while urging the emirate to encourage eligible residents to obtain their PVCs and participate in the electoral process
The Galadima, in his response, urged the campaign team to conduct a rancour-free campaign and work towards ensuring peaceful elections in 2027
The delegation later visited the Potiskum Emirate Council, where Yaro also sought the royal blessing and support of the Emir, Alhaji Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bawuya
The Emir urged the campaign team to ensure that all eligible citizens in the local government participate in the forthcoming elections
He also prayed for the successful execution of the team’s mandate and a peaceful electoral process
Meanwhile, the Potiskum Local Government chapter of the APC organised a solidarity reception in honour of Yaro following his appointment as campaign coordinator
The event, held at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Federal College of Education, Potiskum, attracted party supporters, support groups, friends and other stakeholders from within and outside the local government
Speakers at the occasion commended Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Yobe State APC leadership for entrusting Yaro with the responsibility of coordinating the party’s campaign activities in Potiskum
Speaking to journalists after the event, Yaro thanked APC supporters for the solidarity shown to him
He pledged to work diligently to justify the confidence reposed in him and contribute to the success of the APC and its candidates in the 2027 elections
