Presidential campaign posters of the chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi are seen across major parts of Bauchi.
Amaechi who submitted his presidential nomination form on Thursday ran for presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022 but lost to the President Bola Tinubu. The former Governor of Rivers State will contest the ADC ticket with the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar this year.
Meanwhile, ‘Amaechi for President’ posters have surfaced across major streets in Bauchi metropolis ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
With his ‘Move Nigeria Forward’ slogan, Amaechi will require more efforts to woo the north –Atiku’s stronghold. Although he holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Kasar Hausa of Daura.
The posters were placed at strategic places including roundabouts, electrical poles and signboards along major streets within the state capital.
Residents of Bauchi who reacted to posters described him as a loyal Nigerian who served diligently during the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. One of the residents of Bauchi, Ibrahim Jafar said “He associates himself with the North even more than his region. He cited Nigeria’s first University of Transportation to the North over his state.
“Those who are contesting with him that are even our own from the North have not done such. He can be trusted,” he said.
The posters appeared at key locations across the Bauchi metropolis, including Ahmadu Bello Way, Awalah roundabout, Wunti Flyover, Jos road roundabout, Bauchi club, Nasarawa Gate, Emir’s Palace roundabout and Railway Road, Sabon Titin Karofi and Kofar Dumi street among others.
