National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Senator David Mark has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC of incompetence, saying the present administration has shown lack of capacity to arrest the prevailing insecurity.
Mark stated this at the opening of the 2nd National Executive Committee NEC meeting of the African Democratic Congress in Abuja on Wednesday.
He told party leaders and NEC members present that Nigeria is embroiled in insecurity ocassioned by kidnapping and activities of bandits, adding that APC has shown that they cannot tackle the challenges.
“Our party, the ADC must rise up to the oocssion to address these ills. We are prepared to do things differently and make Nigeria a better and safer society.”
He commended party leaders for their unwavering commitment, loyalty, and sacrifices towards the growth and stability of our party. “Your dedication, even in challenging times, continues to inspire confidence in the future of the ADC as a credible alternative for national leadership.
He said as leaders they must rise above personal interests and remain united to build a strong, disciplined, and people-oriented party, adding that “Internal cohesion, respect for party structures, and adherence to democratic principles must remain our guiding pillars.”
Meanwhile, briefing journalists after the NEC meeting, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said key decisions were reached, including the acceptance the report of the Committee on Policy and Manifesto, adding that the report was formally presented to NEC and will now go to the National Convention including the report of the Constitutional Review Committee.
He said NEC also upheld the dates for the national convention and the ward congresses, explaining that “The polling unit and the ward congresses will come up on the 7th. The Local Government Congresses will come up on the 9th. The state congresses will come up on the 11th and the National Convention on the 14th of April.
