The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging a change in its national leadership, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a post on the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, X handle, he urged the public to disregard the reports.

Reports had suggested that the national chairman, David Mark, stepped aside, with the party’s founder, Ralph Nwosu, allegedly set to reassume leadership ahead of an upcoming national convention.
But te party maintained that its current leadership remains intact, with Mark as National Chairman, Rauf Aregbesola serving as National Secretary, and Abdullahi as National Publicity Secretary.
The misinformation emerged following a recent development involving the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which removed the names of the Mark-led National Working Committee (NWC) from its official portal on April 1.
INEC explained that the action was in compliance with a Court of Appeal order directing all parties to maintain the status quo ante bellum pending the resolution of an ongoing legal dispute involving a rival faction led by Nafiu Gombe.
Despite the development, the ADC clarified that INEC’s move did not amount to a change in the party’s leadership.
The party also rejected the commission’s action, describing it as unlawful, and insisted it would proceed with its scheduled activities, including its national convention slated for April 14.
The ADC further advised its members and the general public to rely only on information disseminated through its verified communication channels, warning against the spread of unverified claims.
