The coalition African Democratic Congress, ADC, has alleged plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to arrange protest against the party under the leadership of Senator David Mark.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, said the aim is to destabilize the opposition party.
Abdullahi while posting on his Social media platforms alleged that after failing to use the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to frustrate the party, the APC and its agents have now moved to the use of protests.
While insisting that they will not be swayed by the antics of the APC, Bolaji said “ADC remain focused on our duty to Nigerians, and we shall remain law-abiding. We will, however, resist by all lawful and necessary means. If they are not acting on his orders, President Tinubu should rein in his enforcers before it is too late.”
Part of the statement said, “Their expectation is that a protest will give oxygen to a case already suffocating in the courts under the weight of its own illegality.
“This, they hope, will create “public pressure” on the INEC Chairman to magically upgrade and recognise an individual who resigned his position and was subsequently expelled from the ADC, to the position of National Chairman of a party he no longer belongs to.”
