Member representing Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Donald Ojogo, has called for unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) after emerging as the party’s candidate for the 2027 general election.
Ojogo secured the APC ticket at the party’s primary election and is seeking re-election to represent the constituency in the 11th National Assembly.
In a statement issued after the primary, the lawmaker described his victory as a mandate entrusted to him by the people rather than a personal achievement, pledging to continue providing quality representation and promoting development across the federal constituency.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Ilaje, Ijaw Apoi and Arogbo Ijaw for their continued confidence and support.
“I shall serve with vigour for as long as Providence permits, bearing in mind that the mandate is a loan to be repaid through deeds and continued quality representation,” Ojogo said.
According to him, the outcome of the primary reflected the unity and cohesion that had been built within the constituency, adding that it marked the beginning of another phase in its development.
Ojogo attributed his victory to the grace of God and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to fairness, equity and leadership development.
He also commended the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for providing leadership anchored on fairness, integrity and institutional strengthening.
The lawmaker expressed special appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for promoting peace, unity and cohesion within the APC in Ondo State.
Ojogo urged his supporters to celebrate responsibly and avoid actions capable of creating divisions within the party, describing the primary as a friendly contest rather than a bitter rivalry.
He also commended the other aspirants for their maturity and sportsmanship throughout the exercise.
“There is no loser in this outcome. The party’s ticket is our collective heritage. This victory belongs to all of us and to the APC,” he said.
Calling on party members to put the primary behind them, Ojogo urged stakeholders to unite and work towards delivering overwhelming victories for President Tinubu and all APC candidates in Ondo State during the 2027 general election.
He warned that internal divisions could undermine the mandate entrusted to the party.
“We can only forge ahead in unity and mutual trust. We must remain one indivisible family if we are to continue the great work we have begun in our federal constituency.
“Let us remember, with the utmost sense of purpose, that our unity as a party is more important. Division is a luxury we cannot afford. Discord is a betrayal of the mandate we have collectively received,” he said.
Ojogo concluded by thanking party leaders, members and supporters for their confidence in him, while reaffirming his commitment to serving the people of Ilaje/Ese Odo Federal Constituency with dedication and integrity.
