Thousands of constituents from Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area in Gombe Central Senatorial District have declared support for the return of Senator Mohammed Danjuma Goje to the Senate in 2027, citing his experience and track record.
The district, which comprises Akko and Yamaltu/Deba LGAs, is currently represented by Goje, a former governor of Gombe State.
Speaking on behalf of the 11 wards of Yamaltu/Deba, Dr Newton Moses said the people were united in their decision to back the lawmaker for another term.
He said their position was based on competence, performance and the need for continuity, noting that legislative work requires experience and deep understanding of governance.
According to him, Goje’s years in the National Assembly have brought development to the area, while his influence and network would attract more federal opportunities if re-elected.
The group also dismissed arguments on zoning, stressing that the Nigerian Constitution does not impose tenure limits on National Assembly membership.
They reaffirmed loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging to deliver votes for the party in the 2027 general elections.
The constituents urged party leaders and stakeholders to heed the will of the people and support Goje’s return for what they described as sustained development in Gombe Central.
